We ship your Specter copper mug by DHL and it usually reaches you within two to three working days. Orders from 39 euros ship free within Germany. If anything happens in transit, drop us a line. We send a replacement without you having to argue for it.

Every mug is picked up and checked individually for finishing flaws before it leaves us. We pay particular attention to the rim and to where the handle joins the body. If you still spot something, get in touch via the contact form. We will find a solution, and quickly.

The Specter is made by experienced artisans in family-run workshops in India. The hammer pattern is created strike by strike by hand, which is why no two mugs are exactly alike. The mug is made from 100 percent pure copper and carries a transparent, food-safe lining inside that meets European food contact compliance requirements.

Wash your copper mug by hand with clean water and mild dish soap, then dry it with a soft cloth. Avoid using the dishwasher, steel wool, and abrasive cleaners. Kupferbecher mit einem Ananasstück als Garnitur

Pure copper, not coated stainless steel

TMany mugs sold online as copper mugs are stainless steel with a thin layer of copper on top. The Specter is not. It is made from 100 percent pure copper, inside and out. On the inside sits a transparent, food-safe lining that meets European food contact compliance requirements. You will not see it, but it is what lets you serve acidic drinks without concern.

Why the Specter is hammered

The hammering is more than looks. It compacts the copper and makes the wall less prone to dents in daily use. And it adds grip, which helps noticeably once the outside turns damp from the cold of the drink. That every hammer pattern turns out differently and catches the light in its own way is the side effect our customers mention most often.

500 ml, so your drink does not dilute

A Moscow Mule needs room. 500 ml are sized so that plenty of ice, ginger beer and lime fit in without the drink sitting at the rim. More ice chills faster and melts more slowly, so the drink stays closer to how it was intended. The curved handle keeps your hand away from the ice cold body, so no temperature passes into the drink from outside.

From a Moscow Mule to a glass of water

The Specter is mostly bought for the cocktail and often used for everything else. Our customers tell us so regularly: water, lemonade, chilled soft drinks, every day. Copper takes on the cold almost instantly, and that works with ginger beer just as well as with tap water. Only one thing matters: this is a drinking vessel, not a storage container.

Häufige Fragen

Does the Specter copper mug have a lining inside?

Yes. The mug is made throughout from 100 percent pure copper and carries a transparent, food-safe lining on the inside. It is invisible and does not change the look, but it ensures the mug meets European food contact compliance requirements. A mug with an inner lining is not the same as a mug made from coated stainless steel. With us the base material is copper, not steel.

Can I serve a Moscow Mule with lime and ginger beer in this mug?

Yes. That is exactly what the Specter is made for. Because copper can react with acid, our mug has a food-safe lining inside. This means you can serve acidic drinks such as a Moscow Mule, a Gin Buck or a lemonade without concern. Treat it as a drinking vessel rather than a storage container: pour the drink when it is going to be drunk, and do not leave it standing overnight.

How much does the Specter copper mug hold and how much ice fits inside?

The mug holds 500 ml to the rim. For a Moscow Mule you can expect around 250 ml of ice cubes, plus spirit, lime juice and ginger beer. The volume is deliberately generous so the drink does not dilute too quickly through the ice.

Why is the Specter copper mug hammered?

The hammering has two practical effects. It compacts the copper and makes the wall more resistant to dents. And it gives the mug grip, which helps when serving once the outside turns damp from the cold. That it also catches the light and makes each mug look unique is the welcome side effect.

Does the mug get cold in your hands?

The body of the mug turns ice cold, and that is part of the experience. This is why the Specter has a handle: you hold it there and your hand never touches the cold body. There is a functional reason too, since your palm would otherwise transfer temperature into the drink. If you prefer a mug without a handle, our range includes handleless models as well.
